Mother Nature In The 21st Century, You Have To Love Her

My camera has been in for a rude awakening for the best several months, in other words I have taken pictures of record snowfalls and tornadoes. It use to not be like this in the metropolitan Washington, DC area, now it seems to occur on a more frequent basis.

Man cannot control Mother Nature, the bottom line is, she rules. I do not know all of the things man has done to deserve the extreme weather we are experiencing, but we had better right our wrongs if we want to move forward in the future.

Case in point, last winter we had record amounts of snowfall, I am not talking about small amounts, rather the kind of snowfall you see in Alaska, the fact of the matter is we received more snow than our fellow citizens in Alaska. Correct me if I am wrong but we are not suppose to get that much snow.

Anyhow, we transitioned to spring and temperatures were at record highs. This summer we are burning up, temperatures reaching into the 100s and no rain whatsoever. What in the world is going on with this weather in the metro DC area?

Well I am not a rocket scientist nor a weatherman. Just two days ago, a powerful storm pushed through the area and in the end, it was a tornado. Trees were uprooted, power outages impacted over 50,000 households and wind gust of 70 miles per hour, that will get your blood pumping when the wind churns like a hurricane.

In my estimation, something is broken and man needs to fix it. Whenever major cities experience the kind of weather events we have faced, chances are they will not be able to recovery very fast. In other words, people are not use to inconveniences, losing power for a week is tough on modern day families.

No electricity and it shuts down businesses, families have to leave their house until the electricity is turned back on and safety issues abound. It does not matter where a person lives nowadays, when Mother Nature pays you a visit, the only words of advice I can give you is to get out of the way, what a great coping skill.

My children and I hunker down in our basement with hard hats to protect us from potential debris. I call my wife to inform her a storm is coming and to take cover at her job if need be. My motto is do not try to be a hero, when Mother Nature comes calling, welcome her in and the sooner she arrives, the sooner she will leave.

Cyclone Yasi Wipes Out The Mess Left By The Floods

Cyclone Yasi which is a category 5 super storm hit Australia, specifically Queensland, and destroyed millions of properties and lives. Prime Minister Julia Gillard said that Yasi is probably the worst cyclone to ever hit Australia.

Just about three weeks ago, the government of Australia proclaimed that it could take years and years to bring the cities affected by flood back on their feet; however, Yasi is getting in the way to realize such plans. With rushing winds more than 280 km/h, the cyclone will surely damage more properties and establishments than the flood did.

The super storm hit Australia with thousands of residents trying to fit into evacuation centers just to be safe. Those people were expecting that after the storm has passed, they could go back to their homes and start to make their lives better, however, the properties they have invested for years were wiped out in a blink; they have nothing to return to.

Literally, the mess that the floods left has been wiped out by the strong winds and rains of Yasi. Now, the question that the people of Australia are how long Queensland will be able to recover from the disasters it has received in the first two months of the year 2011. If it would take years for it to recover from the flood, how many years would the restoration be after the super storm?

The people of Innisfail are more experienced when it comes to cyclone survival techniques because they are used to these kinds of disasters. In 2006, cyclone Larry literally destroyed the town and it happened again. But what the mayor, Bill Shannon, don't want to happen is when lives are lost. He said that it is understandable that houses and buildings will be destroyed as they can easily be built after the storm. But lives cannot be restored when destroyed.

The only assurance that the Prime Minister, Gillard, gave is that all the people of Australia are thinking of those who were victimized by Yasi. But as the storm progresses, that's what the federal government can do because rescuers cannot even be dispatched to help others; the government is also thinking for the safety of the rescuers. It is only after the storm has passed that they can help others.

For people who are left behind or don't want to stay in evacuation centers are on their own. They were advised to get enough food, water and other things they may need during the storm. However, they were also advised that no one will be available to help them should things happen during the progression of the cyclone.

Summertime Heat Wave

It's hot. Obviously, it tends to be hot during the summertime. Nevertheless, the summertime of 2010 seems to be rather a bit hotter than usual. June set a record as the hottest ever reported in many parts of the United States (the "record" being since humans have been tracking temperatures from the 1880s). July 2010 just missed setting a record and August 2010 is shaping up to beat them all out. States, cities, and towns across the country are getting daily forecasts calling for "near record highs" as temperatures hit triple digits in numerous locations, including locations exactly where triple digit temperatures aren't whatsoever typical, leading to temperatures greater than ever before noted.

Overnight temperatures are "cooling" off towards the upper '70s and low '80s at the coolest. Air conditioners are working overtime to keep things cooled down so individuals can have a decent night's rest. Even though there are locations along the northern tier of the United States, exactly where folks aren't whatsoever used to the greater temperatures. Even Russia is getting highest ever heat waves, with news reports about individuals frying eggs sidewalks in Siberia.

Numerous cities have passed ordinances against companies propping open the doors to their company in attempts to lure passers-by with the cool air. Of course, those same companies most likely blanche when they receive their next utility bills. The proprietors likely never had a father who regularly yelled "I'm not paying to cool (or heat when it was wintertime) the entire outdoors!"

Now most folks most likely don't have the air conditioning running into the garage so it doesn't matter that significantly of the garage door is left open. Actually, maintaining the garage door in an open position may really make it a bit cooler than when the garage door is closed. In some older homes, individuals may have finished off a garage as an additional bedroom or even apartment, and in these cases, the no air conditioning and no garage door to open can leave it rather stifling.

Even though the summertime of 2010 is shaping up as one of the hottest ever, it's still feasible for individuals, even within the southern climates, to survive without air conditioning. Individuals survived long, hot summers in all the world and all the climates prior to air conditioning as well as prior to fans. Folks knew how and exactly where to accomplish maximum cooling and shade utilization.

The Winter Season Of Pakistan

The winter season in Pakistan is very pleasant except on the mountains where the winters are very cold.

Pakistan has a short and mild winter which starts about the middle of November and ends about middle of February. On the plain stations like Lahore, it is one of the best season of the year. The highs are in low 70s and the lows in 40s. The sky is clear, the sun bright and bracing. The rainfall is low and the season as a whole is dry. It is the best time of the year to travel any where except towards the mountains.

The mountains to the North have a long and harsh winter. Skardu, on the extreme north east records low temperatures as low as 10F and some times the high also are less than 32 F. In the mountains the winter sets in October and lasts till April. The mountains are covered with a blanket of snow throughout the season.

On the coastline, the weather is even milder than the plains. Karachi, for instance records 77F as high in the coldest month and the low temperature is only 50 F. Actually the Arabian sea keeps the temperatures quite moderate. Once in a blue moon when cold air enters from the nearby Baluchistan Plateau, the weather becomes quite cool but even then the lows remain above 40 F.

In short the winter season is the best season in most of Pakistan and it is quite a contrast to the extreme heat for which Pakistan is well known.

Humidity in Climate Control

Humidity has a large role in climate and climate control along with temperature. Most people recognize humidity as moisture or dampness in the air. It is basically the amount of water vapor molecules in the air.

Humidity may also be measured in many different ways, Absolute humidity is the volume of water vapor in the air. Specific humidity is the mass of water in the air. Relative humidity is the amount of vapor in the air to the amount it might hold when saturated shown as a percentage. For example (RH%)=65%. Relative humidity has the phenomenon of decreasing when temperature increases while the actual quantity of water vapor stays the same.

It's often relative humidity that is referred to in climate control, weather forecasts, buildings and enclosed spaces, health and safety etc.

Associated with relative humidity is dew point, dew-point is when temperature can't hold the water vapors any longer, the vapors then condense into liquid, at which point it is 100% relative humidity. Both dew-point and real temperatures are the same at this point. Therefor a change in temperature will cause a change in humidity.

Humidity and temperature are the main environmental reasons which causes decay and deterioration, timbers rot, metals corrode, textiles fade and deteriorate more quickly, Insects and molds generally like a warm damp environment. These affects gives reason to the importance of climate control in buildings, structures and our environment.

Humidity can be measured with a hygrometer or psychrometer, but generally with high levels of dryness or dampness in the environment, you can feel it on your skin. Humidity can be controlled with a humidistat (humidity controller) this is what is used to regulate the humidity independent of temperature even though both have an effect on each other.

Humidifiers and dehumidifiers are generally used to control relative humidity. Humidifiers introduce moisture into the air by using either a steam generator or an ultrasonic humidifier. A dehumidifier is basically an air-conditioner although it can be used in reverse for heating; moisture from the air is condensed on the cooling coils, and removed with a hose or collected in a bucket.

Finding That Elusive Money You Keep Hearing Is In The List!

If you've been doing Internet Marketing for any length of time. You have no doubt heard the statement: The Money is in The list!... The Money is in the List... The Money is in The List! To the point where you're thinking: would you please stop!

I feel your pain: When I first started out online, I would see those words in practically every forum or group I visited. I didn't have the slightest clue what they were talking about. But I knew that I wanted one of these lists with money in it.

After my every attempt at building one failed miserably. I started to think: Is it all just a facade?... Somebody's cruel idea of a joke? Is it their way of hazing newcomers to the online marketing scene?

As my desperation grew. So did my demand for answers... Was there really any such thing as a list with money in it? Because if there was, it surely wasn't mine.

Well as tenacity dictates, I did get a resounding answer to my question. Seems like out of nowhere, money did show up in the list. That's why I can say with absolute certainty: the money is truly in the list!

However, it is still quite elusive for the vast majority of those looking for it. This is because they keep looking for the money in the list. When in reality they really need to be looking instead into developing their very own Money List.

Here's the thing: Most people don't know that building the list is only the first step. The second step is far more important. The second step is to take the newly built list and develop that list into an unstoppable Money List.

I recently listened with riveting interest to a master affiliate marketer. His daily affiliate income had peaked to a respectable figure at one point... to say the least. And by his own recollection: his only lament was that he didn't take the time to learn how to develop his very own Money list.

The truth is that a marketer can spend many months building a list and end up with nothing to show for it. And while building a list is a step in the right direction. It is of no use if that list is unresponsive.

There are some lists that are so unresponsive. That even if you offered them a cool mil just to hit the reply button. You would get no response whatsoever. That is a recipe for constant frustration.

The key to building a responsive list isn't just getting subscribers. The key is in developing the list of subscribers you've built to be very responsive to every email you send. That my friend is when the magic happens.

What a difference it will make when every single time you email your list, you do so with confidence, know something grand is about to happen. You'll finally have the results you've been longing for: hoards of money in your pocket!

Can you say cha-ching?! That's a much better picture... right? I know you'd agree that's worth working for. Am I right? Well now you know how to make it your reality.

Take the time to build your list. But don't forget to develop that list you build so they'll be happy... no ecstatic to hear from you! That's the secret sauce to ensuring that you don't just have any old list. You have your very own money list... Nothing can stop you now!
